The Challenge

Invest in Canada was a newly established federal organization tasked with promoting Canada as a destination for global investment. While the core identity was already in place, the brand needed to mature quickly into a more polished, consistent, and flexible system that could perform across international events, marketing campaigns, presentations, reports, office environments, and digital channels. The challenge was to help evolve the brand from early-stage government startup to a credible national presence on the world stage.

The Solution

I was brought in to oversee and extend the brand’s visual application across a wide range of high-profile touchpoints. Working within the established identity, I refined brand guidelines, developed campaign visuals, created adaptable design frameworks, and directed creative production for global investment initiatives. The work helped strengthen consistency, elevate the organization’s visual presence, and give Invest in Canada a more professional, scalable brand system across print, digital, event, and environmental applications.

Brand Standards for a National Organization

To support consistency across teams, vendors, and high-visibility communications, I helped develop and refine brand standards that clarified how the identity should be applied. The guidelines covered logo usage, typography, colour, layout systems, photography, messaging applications, and design examples, giving the organization a stronger framework for showing up clearly and professionally.

Taking the Brand to the World Stage

Invest in Canada’s brand needed to work beyond the page. It had to perform in busy conference halls, international trade environments, digital campaigns, presentations, and high-stakes conversations with global investors. From event booths and promotional materials to social assets and industry-specific communications, the system was designed to create a consistent and confident presence wherever Canada’s investment story was being told.

Creating a Space That Looked the Part

The Invest in Canada office space became another opportunity to reinforce the brand’s presence. Environmental graphics, wall applications, and branded interior touchpoints helped turn the workplace into a more cohesive expression of the organization, creating a space that felt polished, professional, and aligned with its national mandate.

Making the Case for Canada

The World Oil Magazine “Why Canada” supplement gave Invest in Canada a focused editorial platform to speak directly to a global energy audience. The design needed to feel credible, polished, and aligned with the national brand while organizing complex investment messaging into a clear, professional publication that could support Canada’s story on the world stage.

Turning Sector Intelligence Into Brand-Ready Tools

The industry fact sheets translated detailed investment information into clear, professional communication pieces for global audiences. Designed as both spreads and individual pages, the system helped Invest in Canada present sector opportunities in a consistent, credible, and easily digestible format across meetings, events, and digital channels.

Keeping Canada Open for Business

As the pandemic disrupted travel, events, and international business, Invest in Canada’s digital presence became even more important. The social media campaign helped maintain visibility, share timely investment messaging, and position Canada as steady, responsive, and open for business in a rapidly changing global environment.
